Interesting fact of the month!

Essex too flat for mountain bikers

It appears there is an 'audacious attempt' by Dalby Forest to stage the Olympic Mountain Biking there, after the UCI rejected  Essex’s Weald Park on the basis that the course was simply not challenging enough.

However London's Olympic organising committee chairman Sebastian Coe has reaffirmed that Essex remains the preferred choice of venue for the 2012 Games' mountain biking event.

Meanwhile MBikers remain puzzled by the apparent insistence that the event goes to Essesx, one of the flattest counties which at its highest point is just 147m, and which has little in the way of mountain biking heritage.

Welcome to MOtley Crew Women's Mountain Biking

HHStart.JPG

Mountain bike rides with a friendly group of women around the Leeds, West Yorkshire and Dales area who haven't grown out of thinking it's fun to get muddy!

In addition to regular rides we have had other activities such as a training weekend, a bike workshop and entering the occasional challenge.

The routes

The routes vary in distance and difficulty (both physical and technical depending on terrain), but are typically 15 - 30 miles on a mix of bridleways, single tracks and quiet roads.
Riders vary from newcomers to experienced MBikers. We go at a pace that everyone can handle.

Ride information

Rides are usually the first Sunday in the month and mainly centred on Wharfedale and Airedale.

The start point varies every month so being able to transport your bike is helpful.
